Stop Tolerating What You Don’t Want

By Teresa Salhi 20 Comments

Are you tolerating more than you want?

Did you promise yourself you would finally get going on those new plans and finally stop stopping?  That’s what I mean by tolerating more than you want.  Sometimes, we end up tolerating the NOT doing what we want. NOT following thru and NOT allowing our gifts to shine. UGH.

www.EmpowerTheDream.com

And what about tolerating that voice…..

You know, the one that says “I can’t..” “You’re crazy…No way is that possible”

Have you ever stopped to examine that voice in your head and how much of what it says is unimportant? The one that you can dialog with for hours and it’s basically just talking you out of what you want. It’s easy to fall under it’s spell and believe what it says.  But if you take a step back and listen with “open” ears you might notice how it is not very darn empowering.

Notice it for what it is… Just a voice… You’ll realize it’s not you.

You’re NOT the voice of the overactive mind you are just the one who hears it.

No matter what it says, it’s still just a voice. That voice has less impact on the world than you think. The only person it’s affecting is you.

Instead, shift the energy and get curious about it. Put yourself in wonder vs. tolerating, frustration, anger or doubt.

Can you do that?

Can you start to wonder …..
  • What if I stopped tolerating the voice that says I can’t?
  • What if I stopped tolerating not going for what I want?
  • What if I stopped tolerating excuses?
  • What if I stopped tolerating that my dreams don’t matter?

NOW there’s a whole world of possibilities unfolding!

To make things even more fantastic and continue on the new possibility streak we just unleashed – I am opening up a few more Deep Dive Discovery Sessions.

Let’s get you back on track.  Quiet the voice and stop the painful tolerating of what you don’t want so you can move FORWARD on making your new business / career change / lifestyle uplevel really a priority.  A priority that generates REALITY. We will time on the phone in a casual, no-strings attached chat to uncover what isn’t working and why. Let me help you answer some hard questions and find new solutions.

Ready? Let’s Do this! I promise you will fee so much better.

Please send email to Teresa@EmpowerTheDream.com with your contact info, with I AM READY in the subject line,  and I will respond back within 24 hours.

Client Praise:

“Teresa is an amazing life/business/ coach, (are they different?) She is intuitive, direct, dynamic, and clear. I feel supported stepping into my dream, out of my comfort zone, and into the great unknown. As a coach, I feel like she was custom made just for me. I know she cares. She is wise, kind, savvy, and understands the world and its intricate workings on a very deep level. She is available whenever I need her, sometimes even if I don’t ask for help directly. I’ve had a few days when I’m feeling blah and uninspired, and then, viola!, like magic, a pep-talk from Teresa in my in-box. She inspires me to be my best, she holds up a mirror that shows me my greatest self, and reminds me of who I truly am when I get bogged down by fear and self-doubt. She reminds me of my vision when I forget.  In the first month, I accomplished countless goals I’d been dreaming of for years. Yes, years. Teresa can help you remember and manifest your dreams too.”  Kate

We all have a nasty inner critic who knows just when to show up uninvited. Its taken me a long time to learn but I can now kick mine out before she unpacks her bags. Great reminder thanks for sharing xo

I know most people will always fall prey to this. We always allow others get to us eventhough we are not comfortable with it.

I don’t deal with the negative head messages, but I did sit up and take notice where you wrote about tolerating the “not’s.” I’ll be spending some time meditating for greater clarity about this.

Love the challenge. It is true, sometimes, we are so comfortable. And we are justifying our comfortableness just to stay within our comfort zone. From what I have realized, it is all about concentration. There is a need to focus and discipline one’s self.

We are always the problem… allowing others to get in our head or us giving into the self doubt… so thanks for sharing how we can improve!

Yes, Teresa Hearing a negative in your head that tells us we are not good enough has to stop. We all can make excuses why we are not doing something. Learning to trust and let go is very helpful and has helped me in my journey.

Yes I agree that we all tolerate and make excuses. Years ago I was in a program that encouraged us to treat all these excuses as the story we tell ourselves..and not as fact. Just this simple exercise helped eliminate some of these ‘tolerances’

Awesome post Teresa! It is time to stop listening to that voice that says we can’t do something or it is too hard lol time to not tolerate it anymore! Sometimes much easier said than done, but worth it to at least try 🙂 Thanks for sharing such great tips!!

Sure, Joan. We can ask ourselves is it easier to tolerate another day, week or year or to really make the effort to change it so we can really move on to what we are meant to do. 🙂

This truly takes objectivity and practice, doesn’t it, Teresa? So often we replay the same thoughts over and over again and yet don’t take the time to step back and ask, “Who does this belong to?” Often it isn’t actually ours. As I get older, I am truly making sure that I am more compassionate with myself and although I am not a person to tolerate much anyways, I am committed to not standing for things that don’t align with who I am and what I stand for. Thanks for the reminder to keep honouring who we are!

Yes, we must honor who we are and not allow ourselves to be dragged into someone else’s reality.

I love this, Teresa. Great advice to reframe the toleration conversation. I talk about how tolerating things in our life affects our ability to attract what we want. It can be as subtle as a light fixture that’s out and you see everyday… or your subconscious sees it – lol. I was tolerating my cracked phone protector and last week said, enough is enough. I’m getting a new one. It made a big difference in my energy. Whether we are talking about our mindset, thoughts or things, tolerating any of it holds us back from realizing our true greatness. Thanks for this reminder, my friend.

Yes, it all matters and impacts us an energetic level. We mustn’t fool ourselves to think little or big tolerances, annoyances, negatives, broken things or broken hearts….IT ALL MATTERS in our vibrational frequency and what we are receiving in our reality.

We really do end up tolerating a lot, don’t we? Often, we are not even aware of how much of our own negativity and lack of action we are tolerating until we really stop to think about it, and this post is a perfect reminder to do just that. Your Deep Divine Discovery Sessions sound really helpful to inspire motivation.

I SO needed this, this very morning, Teresa. I’m in the throes of the crux of my issue, about something that’s the deepest in my heart. And struggling some. This: “You’re NOT the voice of the overactive mind you are just the one who hears it.” Exactly what I needed. Thank you.

Oh, that is so wonderful to always be the voice you hear today….or read actually. Your inner power found this for a reason. Love it!

    Hi, Teresa

What’s a fantastic article for showing us to resist the negative voices in our head?
If we allow that kind of voice to form deep roots in our heads, our progresses will sure be hindered.

    Have a nice weekend!

We definitely need to get out of our head and remove any habitual unserving thoughts and move into our knowing of truth.
