What do you do when life falls apart?
Does it feel like everything in your life falls apart at the same time? What do you do when life falls apart?
- you’re getting a divorce
- the job sucks
- you got rear ended
- the water heater blew up – yikes!
It sure can feel like it all comes tumbling down on you at once, huh?
In this short video What do I Want (when life falls apart)
I mentioned 2 areas of my life that were falling apart and catapulted me into a journey of pain and triumph. When life falls apart – it is your sign to go another way. A sign from your soul!
Sometimes we wonder…
- Did one happen because of the other?
- Does tragedy or life challenges come in groups of 2’s, 3’s or 4’s?
- Was it a coincidence?
- Am I being tested?
- Why is this happening to me?
I believe these often painful ‘grouped circumstances‘ happen (and they can also be groups of awesome experiences too) not because we are just unlucky or bad things always happen to us – but because of the amount of energy or focus we are putting on them.
For me, feeling unhappy, disappointed, frustrated and confused on was something I could not shake. I could not pretend on the inside it wasn’t happening, although on the outside I did – or at least I tried to.
I believe my experiences at work and at home became fueled by underlying feelings I had about myself, my lack of value, my worth and if I was really living up to my potential or loving myself enough (not in my case). Therefore, the experiences in my outer world where a match to those inner feelings. Unfortunate, but true.
Yet, here I am today in a realm of living my real truth. I feel my worth and value by doing my purpose out in the world and I am sharing a home with my beloved who is a gift from God. It didn’t all turn around overnight but it did turn around.
What was my secret?
I did not realize it at the time, but my life changed when I stopped ignoring what I didn’t like or what wasn’t working – but instead used this time to steer me in a new direction.
- What did I WANT?
- How did I really want to FEEL about myself, my life, my career, my love?
Asking myself questions about what to when life falls apart and finally learning to LISTEN to the answer Hint!), getting help from a COACH, learning how to change a sabotaging MINDSET, studying SPIRITUAL LAWS, and staying FOCUSED on what was POSSIBLE – turned my world around for the better – MUCH BETTER.
It’s been quite a journey that’s for sure. Some crappy stuff still happened. I lost my desire once or twice. I gave into the mindset that wanted to keep me stuck – because of the error thinking that is easier to stay put. Oh boy! Does the mind trip you up on that one. But every darn step was a step into a stronger woman, a woman of wisdom, confidence, knowing and purpose.
I got a thicker skin too. Not a thicker skin to where I took on an ENTITLEMENT attitude but one of deeper compassion and love for myself so I stopped tolerating a lower mentality.
My invisible thicker skin helped me to turn a blind eye to any flashes of negativity in my mind, in my environment, on what I chose to watch on TV or listen to from others. I got a thicker skin when part of me wanted to blame, find an excuse or be a victim. I had to have that tough love talk with myself. And the truth is, I still do sometimes.
- Maybe you too have had enough.
- Maybe you too are ready to stop driving to work in tears, hiding at home, pretending it will be ok ….someday.
- Maybe you too are willing and ready to use that description of what you don’t want to take you into a new direction.
Yes? I am rooting for you. you can overcome, prosper, inspire, be a lady of purpose, a queen of success, a high vibrational spiritual woman and overcome challenges when life falls apart. You know have an opportunity to make it fall together again.

True when things go against you it can be time to change route, but it might also only be a sign to calm down…

Over the last year I have had to come to terms with a lot of things about myself that I did not want to admit. Being an introvert, being highly sensitive. I saw these things as weaknesses. I am now seeing they are really blessings and how I can use them. Breaking ourselves open is never easy but the growth is so worth it. Great read lady!

a very inspiring post Teresa. It helps me to appreciate something that is going right for me. We just had a major disaster at our home this weekend in the form of a water line burst. In addition to the horrendous water bill, we are living with no water most of the time. and the overall cost to repair is in the thousands.. But guess what? I can appreciate that this is minor compared to other possibilities.. and I can appreciate that we have the $$ to put toward the expense. Silver linings emerge in all situations.

One thing I keep being reminded of and learning, is that our lives are meant to be lived experiencing polarities. Life is about growth and transformation. And often, yes, the most difficult of times asks us to go deeper, to look within ourselves, to ask the tough questions and to do the work. As Marianne Williamson said this weekend at the conference, you can’t skip the ‘crucifixion’ (metaphorically of course) and go straight to the resurrection. Life requires us to be honest and open and to learn as we grow.

thank you and beautifully said Beverley, that is how I see it too.

Completely relate! I believe in the groupings, mine happened to be in 2’s. That and turning 40 catapulted me into this:
I got a thicker skin too. Not a thicker skin to where I took on an ENTITLEMENT attitude but one of deeper compassion and love for myself so I stopped tolerating a lower mentatlity.
Quit my job and started my own business and haven’t looked back! Thank you!

It can be easy to get stuck when life seems to have fallen apart. We fill our heads with questions that can often lead to feelings of guilt. Your advice to ask yourself the right questions and get to know yourself and what you really want out of life is spot on, Teresa. Love your secret to stop ignoring what you don’t like and instead, make it work for you.

Thanks glad you were able to take something away that might help you Tami.
